Did you know that in our own backyard, on Jones Franklin Road in Raleigh, is the second largest abortion clinic in the state of North Carolina?
Our hearts go out to all those who have been part of an abortion, whether that is the mother, the father, or any others that encouraged an abortion to take place. We recognize the pain, heartache, and brokenness that comes along with that decision. The wonderful news is that we have a Savior who can and will forgive us of all sins. Praise be to God that His grace is far greater than our sin. There are over 800,000 babies aborted in America each year. The shear number alone of babies killed is beyond comprehension. Abortion is the #1 leading cause of death in the U.S. with heart disease being #2, lagging behind by a few hundred thousand. This abortion clinic on Jones Franklin kills on average 12 babies per day and over 4,000 in a year.
Men of Armor realizes that abortion is a man’s issue too. A significant percentage of mothers have said that if the father was supportive, they would have kept the baby. We want to help support those fathers and mothers who are deciding on whether to keep the baby and ultimately, we want to see an end to the mass killing of babies.
Chad has led the way in getting Men of Armor involved in helping Hand of Hope, a local ministry that cares for moms and dads that are considering abortion. In many cases, there is not a man to meet with the father of the baby when he and the mother of the child come into Hand of Hope to discuss the possibility of keeping the baby. Chad has been on-call to counsel men and couples to keep their child, share the gospel, and help with relationship struggles. Praise God!
This Saturday, Hand of Hope and Love Life will be organizing a prayer walk at 9:00 a.m. Our family has been twice. I don’t have the words to express the impact that this time has had on our whole family. On Saturday, we will be joining others in worshiping God in song and beseeching God’s throne in prayer on behalf of those right next to us that will be going in for an abortion that day. God gave Hand of Hope a place right next to the abortion clinic. The yards of each facility literally touch. We will be praying for God to save the lives of the babies who are on schedule to be aborted that day. This is for the whole family including kids of all ages. We must come together as believers and stand in the gap for these babies, mothers, and fathers.
You will be given a shirt for the prayer walk if you arrive before 9:00 a.m. Please note that this is a very calm and peaceful time. We do not directly engage with any of those walking in the center. Also, we do not hold up signs or yell in protest. We simply sing, walk, and pray asking the Lord to do what only He can do, move in the hearts of those coming next door for an abortion.
